Self Projects

When I first got into photography I posted on a message board of wedding photographers asking for advice on my website. I pretty much got torn apart. One response in particular said “ditch the walk around stuff – you look like a wanna be”. I really let that get to me and removed all of the images I had taken that weren’t wedding or portrait related. I’ve given it a lot of thought and decided ‘screw that guy’. I’m going to post images that I’m proud of. After all I’m not here to appease that guy. I want to take image that I think are fantastic and share them with everyone

So…

That’s what I’m going to do!

I’ve decided that as it becomes warmer I need to work on more self gratifying projects. My mission is to spend at least 2 hours every week ┬ájust getting outside and shooting and then post a few images to my blog. I’m going to cheat with this image to get myself motivated. It was actually taken of sunset behind Boston several months ago. I love the white space above the city and the high contrast look. I had a print made up for my wall at home and it looks absolutely incredible if I do say so myself.. and I think I shall.

…. hopefully more to come.
