Griffin Museum of Photography Wedding – Pan-Pan & Mauricio

There’s always this awkward moment in the wedding photography business when you first walk in the door to a potential clients house where you have that half second fear of what kind of people you are about to meet. Are they friendly? How’s the conversation going to go? With Pan-Pan and Mauricio that feeling was instantly gone. They are two of the nicest most sincere people you will ever meet. I knew we were going to hit off immediately when Pan-Pan said she LOVES cat’s and told me that they contacted me because I mentioned Starcraft on my profile. Anyone that knows probably realizes at this point that this was a match made in heaven. Possibly my two favorite things in the world (that aren’t edible). They both made me feel instantly at home. As I later found out, these two are known for hosting Mauricio’s famous BBQs so they’ve had plenty of practice! I only met them that first day and they secured their booking within 15 minutes of meeting. I’d say we hit it off.

Their wedding was at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA. On to the images…

Caitlyn and Bryan St. Ignatius of Loyola Wedding

I worked Caitlyn and Bryan’s St. Ignatius of Loyola wedding for Molly  back in August. Needless to say I’m a little behind on blogging. The funny part about weddings and meeting someone new is there is always the general exchange of pleasantries and water cooler talk. With Caitlyn and Bryan it turns out that water cooler talk put’s them about 3 rows in front of our group at BC football games. I ran into them a few weeks later and hardly recognized them among the sea of yellow shirts.

Larry and Selam – Quincy Neighborhood Club Wedding

Before we get into this blog I have to warn the readers of something – Selam and Larry are the most fashionable people I’ve ever met! Not joking. They are simply and hands down just a fantastically cute couple who always dress to impress. Nothing else to say. Every meeting that we had regarding their wedding photography at the Neighborhood Club in Quincy I had to do a mental double check to remind myself that I didn’t miss an email. “They are here for a meeting. Not a shoot.”

Not only do they ALWAYS look great, they are probably two of the nicest people you could ever meet. To say that I had a great time shooting their wedding would be a bit of an understatement. By the end it didn’t even feel like I was there to shoot. I learned after the shoot that I wasn’t the only one to feel that way given the following email I received from Selam after the wedding:

“I don’t know how to thank you enough. You were simply awesome! I forgot you were the photographer and you felt like one of our friends. Larry and I will be sure to spread the word about you. The teaser photos are so cute. Can’t wait to see more.”

On to the photos….

Arielle and Adam – Boston Public Garden Engagement

There are many ways to be successful in this world but, in my opinion, two of the  top ways are to be gifted with intelligence and to have that glowing personality which makes it tough for people to not want to be around you. Arielle and Adam are BOTH neuroscience PHD students at Brown University. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that they nailed the intelligence part. Once you take a look at these images you’ll understand the second part. I swear I tried my hardest to get Arielle to not smile during our Boston Public Garden engagement session but no matter what methods I tried to pull out, she couldn’t stop. That, my friends, is contagious. Adam thought that the “study face” would do it but we just couldn’t pull it off. Some things are just harder than neuroscience I guess!!

Larry and Selam The Neighborhood Club Wedding

A quick tease from Larry and Selam’s wedding at The Neighborhood Club of Quincy.

Arielle and Adam Boston Public Garden Engagement

We had a great time yesterday at Arielle and Adam’s Boston Public Garden Engagement session.

More to come…

Christine and Brendan Florian Hall Wedding

Everyone knows how unpredictable New England weather can be. That can be a big problem for brides who are trying to plan the perfect wedding day. Fortunately for Christine and Brendan that “typical New England weather”, you know, the one where we get a 3′ storm in march, happened a week before their wedding.

Christine and Brendan live in Dorchester and Brendan is a firefighter so it is only fit that they had there wedding at the Florian Hall. Per usual I started out with Brendan while he got ready and Molly headed off to shoot the ladies. Brendan was telling stories of how great his neighborhood is and how everyone came together during the storm to help each other shovel out. Brendan is a firefighter so, in life interrupting situations like that particular storm, he is often on duty for countless hours. Brendan described coming home to clean sidewalks, a clean driveway and neighbors hanging out in the streets with a cold drink waiting for him when he got home. There isn’t much better than that after a long day of serving the city.

Baby Julianne

Maddie’s cousin Julianne wasn’t far behind..

Self Projects

When I first got into photography I posted on a message board of wedding photographers asking for advice on my website. I pretty much got torn apart. One response in particular said “ditch the walk around stuff – you look like a wanna be”. I really let that get to me and removed all of the images I had taken that weren’t wedding or portrait related. I’ve given it a lot of thought and decided ‘screw that guy’. I’m going to post images that I’m proud of. After all I’m not here to appease that guy. I want to take image that I think are fantastic and share them with everyone

So…
